A traditional family outing turned tragic for the Troutz and Guynn families, shortly after Noon on Friday, July 20 near Sweetwater. The 2005 model SUV carrying five family members over turned, resulting in the deaths of passengers Ronnie Troutz (65) and Kaysie Guynn (28).

Ronnie was an avid bass fisherman and loved his Mojo Football even more. He had a special passion for Permian Panthers football, and also loved cheering on the Texas Longhorns and Washington Redskins.

He was a member of the bass fishing organization - Midland Bassin' Bunch, where he competed in many monthly fishing tournaments with his son, Rusty. He enjoyed playing rounds of golf with family and friends, and also participated in a fantasy football league with his son.


He was born in Sherman, Texas on August 1, 1946. Ronnie was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He married Diane Ussery on June 25, 1966 in Abilene, Texas; and they celebrated 46 years of marriage this June. He was a 22-year employee for Glazers Wholesale Distributors in Odessa, before retiring in February of 2012.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Ed Troutz. He is survived by his wife, Diane Troutz; his mother Meta Troutz; his daughter Denelle Farmer, her husband David and their son Dalton and daughter Dakota; his son Rusty Troutz, his wife Amy and their two daughters Makenzie and Aubrey; his sister Kim Guynn and her husband Doug; his brother Charlie Troutz and his wife Lauria; numerous nieces and nephews and many other loving relatives and family.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Lynn Money officiating.
