|Mojo Alumni Return To Ratliff|
|Tuesday, February 09, 2010 12:14|
This coming weekend will highlight two area rivalries. On Friday night (February 12), Sweetwater will host Snyder's alumni team in the Mustang Bowl. Odessa High and Permian will square off at Ratliff Stadium on Saturday (February 13). Both games will kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
For the last three months, former players from Permian and OHS have been preparing for this one night - a night to strap on the pads and rekindle the rivalry, a night to reclaim bragging rights in the city of Odessa. Just this past Saturday, thousands of fans flocked to Crane for four alumni football games. Grandfalls dominated Buena Vista (60-12), McCamey defeated Iraan (20-0), Wink edged Rankin (6-0), and Crane beat Kermit (8-0). Attendance for the day was 3,500 and Crane High School raised $3,000 for “Project Graduation,” through the concession stands operated by the senior class parents. McCamey High School raised nearly $1,500 for their booster club through the Alumni Football pre-sale ticket program. Fans went all out for the occasion; they made signs, painted their faces and brought noise makers. Adding to the already great game atmosphere, three of the teams brought their inflatable tunnels and the Crane Golden Crane mascot and cheerleaders were even on hand to support their former classmates and teammates.
